Ellen Rebecca (Harper) Teter, 92, of Dayton, formerly of Mt. Solon, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Sentara-Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Onego, WV on January 23, 1921, and was a daughter of the late Bertha (Ketterman) and George Harper.

Ellen was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist. She graduated from Circleville, WV High School, Moved to Mount Solon in February 21, 1952, lived on the Byerly tenant farm for six years, and in Mt. Solon for 42 years prior to moving to Dayton. She was a member of the Mount Solon Ruritans Ladies Auxiliary.

She was united in marriage on November 10, 1945, to Delmar C. Teter, who preceded her in death on December 4, 1985.

She is survived by two daughters, Lois Teter Shull, of Bridgewater and Roseann Teter Pittington and husband Ronnie of Millsboro, DE; three sons David Floyd Teter and wife Alice, Thomas Cecil Teter and wife Mary, and James Guy Teter, all of Dayton; a sister, Marcie Clatterbuck, of Baltimore, MD; two brothers, Gar Harper, of Onego, WV and Guy Harper, of Warren, OH. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Melissa Showalter and husband Randy, Kelli Pittington, Curtis Pittington, Travis Teter and wife Christy, Angela Tusing and husband Brian, fourteen great grandchildren, Lindsay Hamlin, Logan Cook, Joshua Wanger, Stephen Morris, Samuel Pittington, Addison Pittington, Taylor, Catelynn and Benjamin Teter, Brayden Halterman, Grayson Tusing, Ethan Showalter, Arianna Showalter, and Laurel Showalter; one great-great-granddaughter, Sierra Hamlin.

She was preceded in death by Archie Harper, Lester Harper, Virgil Harper, Roy Harper, Marvin Harper, Macie Hedrick, Geraline Smith, and Beulah Ketterman

A memorial service will be held at Johnson Funeral Service Chapel in Bridgewater at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 17, 2013 with Wes Grove officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.

Burial will be private.
