J.A. Crawford
J. Albert Crawford died of consumption Monday afternoon at 1:15 o'clock at his home, 121 E. Main street. He had been sick for about a year and a half, and the end was hastened by a throat trouble. Last Thursday he returned from Denver, where he had been for three months in hopes of benefitting his health. The deceased was in the 35th year of his age and was a contractor, driller and producer in the Southwestern and neighboring oil fields. He worked principally for the Devonian Oil company. He is survived by his wife, who with his sister, Mrs. L.C. Wilson, of Olean, were with him in Denver.

The deceased was the son of J.W. and Sylvia Crawford and was born in Mahoning county, Ohio. The last two years he has lived in Titusville, for twenty-five years previous to that residing in Gresham. In 1893, he married Miss Lottie Jameson of Gresham. He is survived by five sisters - Mrs. L.C. Wilson of Olean, NY; Mrs. J. A. Alcorn, Mrs. J.A. Mars and Miss Mabel Crawford of Titusville and Mrs. J.O. Tefft of Marietta, O., all of whom are here. Mrs. Crawford is seriously ill from the shock of her bereavement and Mrs. Wilson is also prostrated.

Mr. Crawford was an energetic, enterprising man of business and made friends of all he with whom he came in contact. He was well-to-do and leaves a comfortable life insurance.

The funeral will take place Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, place to be announced later, and interment will be made at Gresham.
