Shelby Jean Gause Workman, 76, of Marietta passed away peacefully Monday, November 11, 2013. A Memorial Service will be held 12:00 noon Monday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with a reception to follow. Interment will be in Pine Ridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw.

Daughter of Evelyn and the late Newman Gause, Ms. Workman grew up in Conway, S.C. and moved to Georgia in 1954. She attended Young Harris College and Kennesaw State University and graduated with a degree in Nursing. She worked at many facilities throughout her career but her favorite was Shepherd Center for Brain and Spinal Rehabilitation.

Survivors include her daughters, Jan Watts of Chatsworth, Lori Fowler of Kennesaw, Jamie McNair of Macon, Joyanna Blake of Chatsworth; and her son, Jim Freeman of Marietta; her mother, Evelyn Gause of Marietta; her siblings, Ronald Gause, N.C. Gause, Lynn Gause, Joseph Gause and Pam Harrison; 21 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Workman, Jr.
