She married Lambert J. Staab October 9, 1965 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays.
Rita was a homemaker and a long time secretary at Staab Repair. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, VFW and American Legion Ladies Auxiliaries, and a charter member of the American Legion Riders Chapter 173.
Survivors include her husband, Hays; two sons, Stan Staab and wife, Katrina, and Larry Staab and wife, Debra, all of Hays; three brothers, Rick Miller, Ken Miller and wife, Sue, and Dennis Miller and wife, Jackie, all of Hays; and four grandchildren, Sharlie and Spencer Staab and Jordan and Taylor Staab.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sheridan Ann.
Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday, November 15 at Immaculate heart of Mary Church in Hays. Burial will be at the Kansas Veteran's Cemetery in WaKeeney. The American Legion Riders Chapter 173 will provide the escort.
Visitation will be Thursday 4 PM – 8 PM and Friday 9 AM – 9:30 AM at Brock's North Hill Chapel ~ 2509 Vine ~ Hays, KS. 67601.
The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary service will be Thursday at 6 PM, a VFW Ladies Auxiliary service at 6:30 followed by a Parish vigil service at 7 PM all at the funeral home.
