Harry E. Bock age 72, of Knoxville, Illinois passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 11:40 PM at the Knox County Nursing home.

Harry was born September 18, 1941 in Peoria, Illinois the son of Alvin C. and Phyllis L. (Runyon) Bock. He married his first wife Mary Landon in 1967, they later divorced. He married the love of his life Sharon Smith on May 26, 2007.

Harry graduated from Knoxville High School in 1959. He lived in the Maquon area from 1962-1976. He was a little league coach, member of the Maquon Fire Department; he ran the FS service station and the Salon Supreme Beauty Shop, both in Maquon from 1978 - 1985. He was employed by the OMC Corporation, Maytag and later Gates Rubber Company where he retired 1998 after 31 years of service. After retirement, he worked as a job trainer for the KCCDD and was a drug tester for BNSF, and later a driver for the Department of Children and Family Services.

Harry was a member of the WIAAC and organized the Railroad Days Car Show for 12 years. He was a diehard Cubs and Duke Basketball fan. He loved cars especially classic cars. He enjoyed going to car shows and swap meets. He was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Illinois.

Surviving are his Wife, Sharon; two Daughters; Melissa of Montgomery, IL and Laci of Leland, IL, one Grandson; Kyle of Leland, IL, one Brother; Gerald of Peoria, IL, one Sister; Stella Durdle of Galesburg, IL, one Brother-In-Law; John Friend of Galesburg, IL, five Nephews; Mitch Durdle, Tim Durdle, Troy Durdle, Dan Durdle, and John Friend Jr.

He was preceded in death by his Parents and one Daughter, Bridget.

A Celebration of Life Fellowship will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center in Knoxville, Illinois. In-lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Knox County Humane Society or the Maquon Fire Department. Inurnment will take place at the Maquon Cemetery at a later date. The Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family.
