Creta C. Lutz, 100, of Holton died Monday May 9, 2011 at her home. She was born on July 24, 1910 in Seneca, KS, the daughter of Ammi Newton and Olive May Gillaspie Chandler. Creta was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Holton and had worked as custodian for the VFW. Creta married Clarence Henry "Dutch" Lutz on April 4, 1942 in Holton. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1970. She was also preceded by her sisters, Nana Blandin and Mona Chandler and her brothers, Rolland Chandler and Clifford Chandler. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Lutz was cremated. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday May 12, 2011 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Holton Cemetery c/o Mercer Funeral Home, PO Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
