Charles LeRoy Plummer 90, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at a Saint Joseph health care center. He was born October 9, 1923 in St. Joseph, MO. He worked at Quaker Oats, retired from the St. Joseph Stockyards, and owned operated his own Salvage yard. He enjoyed playing bingo, and cards, and spending time with his family. His true passion was his salvage yard and working on cars, something he was very well known for. He was a Christian. Charles was preceded in death by wife, Nadine Plummer, and former wife, Maxine Stephens, his father, Wendel Plummer, and mother, Rosa Smith, a brother,Wayne Plummer, a sister, Maxine Gould and his grand daughter in law Denise Marti. Survivors include, a daughter, Cecelia Marti and husband Ernie Sr. of St. Joseph, MO, a brother, Gerald Plummer of Savannah, MO, a sister, Wanda Shelton of St. Joseph, MO, three grandsons, Ernie Marti Jr. and wife Dawn, Ted Marti and companion Janet, and Chuck Marti, a granddaughter, Janice Halbirt and husband Chris, additional family members include; Cecil Marti, and Joann Mace, and their children: Garnett, Cecil Jr, Dena, Jim and Joey, and numerous great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 am, on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Rupp Funeral Home, with Pastor Dave Hugger officiating, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Ashland Cemetery.
