She was born in the Township of Crystal Lake, Marquette County, a daughter of Edward and Frances (Hoffman) Krueger. Bernice married Arden Groskreutz on June 6, 1948 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Princeton.
She had worked as a housekeeper at the Green Lake Conference Center. Bernice enjoyed gardening, flowers, and especially her family. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Princeton.
Bernice is survived by her husband of 60 years, Arden Groskreutz of Princeton; 2 sons, Warren (Terry) Groskreutz of Cedarburg, Marlin Groskreutz of Princeton; 3 grandchildren, Eric, Lindsay, Brian; sister, Geraldine Oelke of Princeton; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Erhardt; 2 stepsisters, Esther, Florence; stepbrother, Edward Jr.
A funeral service for Bernice Groskreutz will take place on Thursday, February 19, at 11:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Princeton with Rev. Robert Pless officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Memory Hill Cemetery in Princeton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.
