Mona Lee Kime, 75, of Wabash, died at 3:18 pm, Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Autumn Ridge Healthcare Center in Wabash. She was born September 22, 1938 in Kentland, Indiana to Richard and Ethel (Smith) Hutchinson.
Mona was a 1956 graduate of A.J. Kent High School, in Kentland. She recieved her Bachelor's Degree in 1960, and her Master's Degree in 1964, from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She married John E. Kime in Kentland, on August 4, 1962. She was a music teacher, first at Chili & Mexico Elementary Schools, in Miami County, 10 1/2 years, then at Southwood Elementary School, in Wabash County, for 33 years, retiring in September of 2010. She was a member of the Indiana State & Wabash County Teachers Association, serving as secretary, and was the director of Circle the State with Song for several years. She enjoyed watching college basketball & football, doing yard work, and working word search puzzles.
She is survived by her husband, John E. Kime of Wabash, 2 children, Debra (Andrew) Venezia of Marion, Indiana, and Kenneth (Carla) Kime of Wabash, 5 grandchildren, Britany Kime Noland of Madison, Indiana, Joshua Kime of Wabash, Roman Venezia of Marion, Michael (Ernessa) Venezia of Gallup, New Mexico, and Andria Venezia of Chicago, Illinois, 2 great-granddaughters, Cheyenne and Caydence Kime, both of Wabash, brother, Robert (Patty) Hutchinson, of Kentland, 2 sisters-in-law, Pat Hutchinson of Kentland, and Marjorie Hutchinson of Muncie. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Floyd and Ralph Hutchinson, and 2 half brothers, Charles and Bernard Hutchinson.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday November 18, 2013 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with David Phillips officiating. Entombment will be in Chapel of Remembrance Mausoleum in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash
