Bruce G. Horrocks of Hilltown Township died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at his home. He was 63.
He was the husband of Carol L. (Moyer) Horrocks. The couple had celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on Aug. 21, 2012.
Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Warren and Isabelle (Lowe) Horrocks.
A 1967 graduate of Pennridge High School, he attained his Bachelor's degree from Salem College, West Virginia, in 1972.
Bruce was employed by Whitemarsh Township, Montgomery County, for seven years, first serving as the first assistant manager and currently as township manager. Previously, he was township manager for Skippack and Hilltown Townships.
He was a member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, Perkasie, where he served on the Church Consistory and sang in the Church Choir.
Bruce was an active member of the RULE Leadership Program for many years. He had served as president and soccer coach of Deep Run Valley Sports Association, and was named to the Association's Hall of Fame. He also had served as president and coach of the Upper Bucks Soccer League. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose No. 1539, Sellersville.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, M. Paige Foley and her husband, Everett, of Perkasie, a son, Adam M. Horrocks and his wife, Kim, of Doylestown; three grandchildren, Avery, Rowan and Hadley Horrocks; and two brothers, Warren 'Rennie' Horrocks and his wife, Rosemary, of Souderton, and Charles 'Chick' Horrocks and his wife, Georgia, of Columbia, S.C .
His memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, in St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, 110 North Sixth St., Perkasie, where family and friends may call from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
