INTERLOCHEN — Loretta "Rita" Mae Dinger, 69, of Interlochen, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at home with her family by her side. She was born Dec. 9, 1943, in Colfax Township, the daughter of Francis and Lena (Egan) Milliron.

Rita was appointed Deputy Clerk of Green Lake Township in 1988. She was elected Township Clerk in 1989 and proudly served until her death.

In her spare time Rita enjoyed spending time with her family. She looked forward to her monthly luncheons with the "Silly Aunts," and she liked to watch NASCAR.

Rita was proud to be self-sufficient and independent, and she will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Rita is survived by her children, Sandy (Mike) Gionet, of Copemish, Terry Dinger, of Nessen City, and Tammy Humphrey, of Beulah; her grandchildren, William Lee (Heather) Bradley, of Nessen City, Kelsey (Jimmy) Bradley, of Nessen City, and David Gionet, of Copemish; her great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Gavin, Gabriel, Miley, Tayshaun and Nova; her brothers, Robert (Jan) Milliron, of Nessen City, and Marvin (Betty) Milliron, of Nessen City; her brother-in-law, Roger Griner, of Frankfort; and her friend and companion, Jerry Steele, of Bokellia, Fla.

Rita was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, LaVonne "Vonnie" Griner.

Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be conducted at 2:45 PM, Thursday, November 14, 2013, at the Terwilliger Funeral Home, in Kaleva, with Dr. Paul S. Hammer officiating. A celebration of Rita's life will follow at the Springdale Township Hall. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time of services. Interment will take place in the Colfax Township Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Green Lake Township Fire & Ambulance or to the Dinger Family.

The Dinger Family wishes to extend their most heartfelt appreciation to Rebecca from Green Lake EMS for her assistance to the family during Rita's illness.
