US Army Major General. He began his military career graduating from West Point in 1903 and was commissioned an engineer officer. After serving on the General Staff in Europe during World War I, he was promoted Brigadier General. During World War II, he served as the G-4 Supply Commanding Officer in charge of transportation, traffic and was accountable for all Army property. After the war, he was promoted Major General and commanded combat engineers and headed up the Atlantic Sector of the Canal Zone.
