United States Army Brigadier General. Born Camilla Casatti Cadmus Carr, at the start of the Civil War he entered the Union Army in 1862 and was commissioned a Lieutenant in the 1st US Cavalry. He was wounded during the Battle of Ceder Creek, Virginia and later rose to the rank of Major in the 8th US Cavalry. After the war he remained in the Army, fought in the Indian Wars of the West and obtained the rank of Brigadier General, before retiring in 1903.
