Marie Elaine Hinson Edwards, age 66 of Alexandria, formerly of Winnfield, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.
Mrs. Edwards was a native of Lancaster, South Carolina and a member of the South Winnfield Baptist Church. She loved to cross stitch and was an avid reader.
She was the daughter of the late Robert V. Hinson and the late Allie Marie Chandler Hinson. Mrs. Edwards was also preceded in death by her husband Dale A. Edwards.
Those left to cherish her memory include her three daughters Liz Ricketts Frederick and her husband Les of Winnfield, Debbie Ricketts Humphries and her husband Mike of Pineville, and Cathey Ricketts Frederick and her husband Trey of Converse, Texas; seven grandchildren Trey Frederick and his wife Megan, Andrew Frederick, Shelby Frederick Tipton, Laura Frederick, Macayla Frederick, Regan Frederick and Rayce Frederick; five great grandchildren Kayleigh, Natalie, Annaleigh, Kya, and Levi; one brother David Hinson of Winnfield; two sisters Faye Vines of Dodson, and Grace "Midge" Hand of Winnfield. She is also survived by five nieces and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2013 at South Winnfield Baptist Church with Reverend Jack Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories, in Winnfield.
Friends may visit with the family at the church on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and also on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Trey Frederick, Warren Trey Frederick, Andrew Frederick, Steve Sanders, Les Frederick, Isaac Ricketts, Robert Johns, and Glen Humphries. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Humphries, Warren Ricketts and Rayce Frederick.
