Mr. Price was a native of Wrightsville. He was a 30 year veteran of the United States Air Force and Army. During World War II, he was involved in combat in the South Pacific. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge and Battle Stars. On Pelelieu Island, he was awarded the Silver and Bronze Star. Mr. Price was involved in the Berlin Air Lift. During the Korean Conflict, he was in casualty assistance stateside. Later Mr. Price received the Air Force Commendation Medal.
Mr. Price was ordained by Brown Memorial Baptist Church of Wrightsville. He served as pastor of Bay Springs Baptist Church, Ivey Chapel, Moxley Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove and Harrison Baptist Church. He also served as pastor of Midville Baptist Church for 27 years. Rev. Price lived in many different states, including Hawaii, Alaska and Texas. While living in Anchorage, Alaska, Rev. Price pastored, named, and constituted The First Baptist Church of Eagle River. During his ministry in Alaska, he was also involved in starting several missions. He also served as pastor of Lake Garden Baptist Church in San Antonio, Texas. He received a B.A. in Bible Theology, Doctorate in Christian Counseling and an Honorary Doctorate of Law Degree from The Augusta Law School. Rev. Price was also a graduate of the United States Air Force Chaplains Staff College of Montgomery, Ala.
He was a member of the Military Chaplains Association of the United States of America. He was ecclesiastically endorsed by the Chaplain's Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention. He was a charter member of the National World War II Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. He was also a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason. He served two years as Chaplain of The First Masonic District of Georgia. Locally he was a member of the Lions Club, American Legion, and Georgia Sheriff's Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Price and Lotus Carter Price Paul; his wife, Esther Harrison Price; one sister, Gretchen Paul Marshall; and four brothers, Vertran Price, Rex Paul, Coolidge Paul, and Capice Paul.
