John Beaman and his wife Colin (Colen)were buried on their farm at Beamans Crossroads, about one mile from the old Herring School. Their headstones had survived and a descendant took them and placed them in the Clinton City Cemetery, now Springvale Cemetery, Clinton, NC.

John's death date was found in the "Raleigh Register", a copy of which can be found in the book, "N.C. Marriages & Deaths, 1799-1825", by Carrie L. Broughton.
