Kenneth Lee Derpinghaus, 77, Suring, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2013. He was born Aug. 5, 1936 to Frank and Irene Derpinghaus. Ken went to West De Pere High School. After school Ken had different jobs and in that time he met and fell in love with Shirley the love of his life. It was a short courtship and they were married in April of 1957. At that time Ken worked for the Brown County Highway Dept. Then Ken and Shirley opened Village Liquor Store in 1969 until his retirement. Throughout Ken's life he was a Mason, had a hand in starting the Howard Optimist Club and the Howard Volunteer Fire Dept. After retiring he and Shirley moved to Mountain, WI and joined the Suring Methodist Church. He also was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church of Green Bay before moving up north. Being up north was a passion of Dad's and he loved being able to feed all the animals up there and putzing in his garage. He also took pride in his trap shooting.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Sheila (Cal Corby) Derpinghaus; Vicki (Al McAllister) Derpinghaus; Steve and Theresa Derpinghaus; grandchildren, Jacob Derpinghaus; Whitney (Dan Nelson) Derpinghaus along with his children. He is further survived by his siblings, Merle (Mary) Derpinghaus; Nancy (Paul) Gustafson; Pat (Carol) Derpinghaus; Marylin (Gene) Derpinghaus. He is also survived by Shirley's sisters, Patsy Dennison and Betty (Dean) Lewis; and many nieces, nephews, friends and as Dad would call her, his 4 legged wife Bootsie.

Ken was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Shirley; his parents; in-laws; and his sister, Jean Wilcox.

Friends may call at the Suring United Methodist Church on Friday, Oct. 18 from 9 until 11:00 a.m. Service 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Dan Nault officiating.
