Ocala - Martin M. Brooks, 80, of Ocala, FL went to heaven from his home in Ocala on Sunday, November 10, 2013.
He was born in the Bronx, NY on May 5, 1933 and was son to the late Martin T. and Anna M. (Daly) Brooks. Martin served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He then became a design engineer for Grumman Aerospace on Long Island, NY; retiring to Florida in 1995.
Martin was a member at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ocala. He was a martial arts instructor and president of the Grumman Aikido Club. He was president of the Oak Run Ball Room Dance Club for two years; member of the New York Club and Country Western Dance Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Catherine Brooks; children Donna Martin and Douglas Brooks; grandchildren Nicole Brooks Donolli, Ashley, Chelsea and Danielle; great grandson Aiden; sister Maryann Brooks.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the TimberRidge Chapel of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Ocala. The Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, November 14th at 8:30 a.m. at the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ocala. Burial will follow at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
