Jerry E. Inman, 76, of Alton died peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Mon. Nov.11, 2013.
Born in Marvel, Ark. on Aug. 27, 1937, he was the son of the late Jesse Baker Inman and Maude Speakman Inman.
He was married to Norma Jean Goodman and later to Cynthia K. Goble.
Surviving are his children, Rhonda Lewis of Hartford, Gary (wife Melissa) Inman of Padducah, Ky., Kenny (wife Cynthia) Inman of Edwardsville, Kerri Inman of Hartford, Amanda (fiancé Mike Austin) McSyne (also his care-giver) of Alton, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lelia Poss of Rison, Ark., Betsy Foster of White Hall, Ark.; five brothers, Willard of Brighton, Bobby of Brighton, Clarence of Rison, Ark., Terry of East Alton and Jackie of East Alton.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse Inman and Billy Ray Inman; and a brother-in-law, Zane Foster.
Jerry was a retired Riverboat Captain who loved garage sales and flea markets. His favorite pastimes were playing Slo-pitch softball, golf and bowling.
Graveside rites will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, at Borlin Cemetery southwest of Carrollton.
Memorials may be made to the Stroke Assn.
