She was the daughter of William Peter Cartright and Mary Adaline Jones and married Robert Jackson Carson November 14, 1886 in Fannin County, Texas.

Services were conducted by Rev. John C. Correy at Memory Chapel, A. L. Moore and Sons Mortuary on May 15, 1954 and concluded at Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery, Phoenix, AZ.

She was buried next to her step-daughter Wittie M. (Carson) Cartright who died in 1953. Wittie and Lucy were also sister-in-laws as Wittie married James Walter Cartright who was the brother of Lucy A. (Cartright) Carson.
