Gerald Edward Hinton, 72, of Charles Town, WV; died on Monday at Shenandoah Center in Charles Town, WV.

Mr. Hinton, born in Ranson, Jefferson County, was the son of the late Lee Nelson Hinton and Marguerite Virginia Costello Hinton. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Katherine Emmons, two brothers, Harold Lee Hinton and Calvin Nelson Hinton, and one step-son, Paul Hardy.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survivied by his companion of 30 years, Joy Moss of Charles Town, one daughter, Kristy D. Hinton, two brothers, Glen Franklin Hinton and Larry Wayne Hinton both of Charles Town, thirteen grandchildren, one step-son, Robert Hardy of Martinsburg, three step-daughters, Lucy Hardy of Martinsburg,and Joann Tarmon and Betty Jane Conner both of Winchester, VA.

The family received friends 6-8pm, Thursday evening, November 14, 2013 at the funeral home.

The funeral services were held at 11am, Friday, November 15, 2013 at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home Chapel, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV with Pastor Bucky Chapman officiating.

Burial was made in Fairview Lutheran Cemetery, Bolivar, WV.
