A large memorial, reads: Sommerkamp, in Memory of Corp. Dudley J. Sommerkamp, USMC, Jan 25, 1920 - Jan 1, 1944. Killed in Action on Bougainville Island, WWII. 'He that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. Matt.10:39. Buried near Dudley are Ruth J. and Roland D. Sommerkamp.
