Memorial

On September 16th, 1897, the death angel flew solemnly over the membership of Cotton Valley M.E. Church, South, and peacefully bore away one of its devout and time-honored members--Aunt Patie Monzingo.

At the time of her death and for some time previous she was with her daughter, Mrs. Rosa Martin, Waco, Tex. After the lapse of a few days she intended to return to Louisiana, to her old home, now the home of her son, Mr. E.H. Monzingo; but instead she has gone to a heavenly home--a mansion bright and fair; a haven of rest for the weary saints, where sorrow nor weeping never come, where there is no sin, no parting, no death. Thank God for such a home!

Be it Resolved, 1st--That in the death of Sister Monzingo Cotton Valley church has lost one of its valiant soldiers of the cross. But our loss is her eternal gain.

Resolved 2nd--That while we deeply mourn her loss, we are happy in the thought that she is safe in the arms of Jesus.

Resolved 3rd--That a copy of these resolutions be sent to New Orleans Christian Advocate for publication; also to each of our parish papers.

MRS. A.W. HODGES,
MRS. J.C. GRAY,
MRS. S.L. COLE,
Committee.
