George Priputen, 84, formerly of Hampton, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, in Moreno Valley (Calif.) Community Hospital. He was born Nov. 11, 1919, in Homestead to the late Michael and Julianna (Polyschak) Priputen and also was predeceased by sisters Ann, Mary and Margaret and brothers Andy, Michael, Edward and Raymond. George was a World War II veteran and a member of the Hampton American Legion post, West View VFW Post 2754, St. Catherine of Sweden Church in the Wildwood neighborhood of Hampton and the NRA and ATA. He was a civil engineer for more than 53 years who retired after 33 years of service from Galletta Engineering Corp.
Surviving are his wife, Joan (Gillespie) Priputen; daughter, Karen Silvaggio of California; sons, Allen G. Priputen of Texas and David L. Priputen of California; sisters, Helen Buday of Homestead and Agnes Sapp of Munhall, and six grandchildren.
Visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the HERBERT R. KING JR. FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2841 Woodland Circle at Route 8, Hampton. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Catherine of Sweden Church. Interment in North Side Catholic Cemetery, Ross.
