Ray L. Fuller, 89, died Thursday morning, May 31, 2007, at his home in El Dorado. Private services were held for the family on Saturday.

Ray was born July 22, 1917 near Keighley, the son of William and Sarah Viola (Locke) Fuller. The family moved to Wilson County and he attended the Elderbranch School. They returned to El Dorado in 1928. He attended the Pontiac School and graduated from the El Dorado High School. He served his country in World War II in the Army Air Corps. He was a Staff Sergeant in maintenance working on the B-29.

On Oct. 8, 1947 he was united in marriage to Violet Clark in El Dorado. He hadlived on the family farm for more than 58 years. He was a farmer and rancher. He was a longtime member of the First Christian Church and the Farm Bureau where he had served as past president.

Survivors include: his wife, Violet of the home; one son, Roger of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Linda and her husband Frank Turner of El Dorado and Carol and her husband Rudy Bradburn of Emporia; sisters, Ruby Manka of El Dorado and Neva Whitted of Valley Center; grandchildren Laura, Teresa, Jeanna, Amy, Travis, Ryan and Sasha; and ten great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church. Contributions may be left with Kirby-Morris Funeral Home.
