Brenda Karen Dockery, 71, Nickelsville, VA passed away on September 1, 2012 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center..Mrs. Dockery was born in Scott County, VA on May 29, 1941 to the late Ezra and Lois Wampler Hillman..Karen had a deep and abiding faith in God and love for her church.
In addition to her parents, her daughters, Brenda Kaye Dockery and Janet Dockery Carter; brother, Harry Hillman preceded her in death.She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Howard Dockery, Nickelsville, VA; daughter, Suzanne Dockery Hill and husband, Milo, Gate City, VA; granddaughter, Hannah Grace Hill; sisters, Phyllis Cassell, Gate City, VA and Lyndell Greear and husband, Joe, Gate City, VA; brother, Max Hillman and wife, Gladys, Mechanicsville, VA; along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Gate City Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. C.K. Coffman, Brother Odell Beauchamp, and Rev. G. W. White officiating. Judy McConnell will provide the music.Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at the Nickelsville Cemetery, Nickelsville, VA 24271.
