He was born July 17, 1947, in Wichert, the son of Raymond and Margaret VanSwol Chase.
He married Beverly Zabel on January 24, 1970, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Watseka.
Mr. Chase retired from the Heinz Plant in Kankakee and had also worked as a custodian at National Bank of St. Anne. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Watseka, enjoyed camping, going to Branson, Mo. and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Beverly, of St. Anne; two daughters, Tammie and Marcus Thomas, of Indianapolis; and Lori and Alan Sutton, of Francesville, Ind.; two brothers, Charles and Larry Chase, both of St. Anne; seven grandchildren, Curtis, Christian, Grace and Marc Thomas, Analese, Liliana and Isabella Sutton; and three great-grandchildren, Marissa, Joshua and Rachel Thomas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Joseph Chase.
