Juanita "Short" Hickman, 90, of Black Oak, Arkansas, died Sunday, NOvember 10, 2013, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
Born in Cave City, Arkansas, to Arthur and Truie Qualls Caldwell. Juanita moved to Black Oak at an early age and lived much of her life there.
She was a homemaker and retired from Frolic Footwear in Monette with over 20 years of service. Juanita was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Hickman; son-in-law, Dwight "Ike" Adams; and three brothers, Leo, Don and Ken Caldwell.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Nancy Hickman of Jonesboro; daughter, Ginger Adams of Jonesboro; sister, Verneil Allen of Broken Arrow, Okla.; six grandchildren, Tammy Griffin, Amy Metcalf, Mark Hickman, Matt Hickman, Chett Hickman and Brett Hickman; eight great-grand-children, Justin Griffin, Amber Metcalf, Hannah Griffin, Lily Hickman, Levi Hickman, Molly Hickman, Henry Van Hickman and Ingrid Hickman; and great-great-grandson, Owen Griffin.
Funeral services were held at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial was in Monette Memorial Cemetery.
