Born Feb. 12, 1927, in Sandstone, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Perry Fulton Fox and Minnie E. Jessup. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph A. Shaffer, who passed in 1958, George V. Foster who passed in 1967 and James Porter, who passed in 1993. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Fox and James Fox and three sisters, Clarice Ames, Dorothy Reynolds and Trama Brumfield.
She worked at Heinrich's Clothing Store in LaVale and was a homemaker to her family and two daughters.
Edna is survived by her two daughters, Helen L. Duckworth-Flook and husband John, of Smithsburg and Norma J. Schnably and husband James, of LaVale; her grandchildren, Brian A. Duckworth, Jason R. Duckworth and Sean Schnably; two sisters, Ernestine Powell, of Florida and Evelyn Lawson, of Pennsylvania and one brother, E.M. (Deed) Fox, of Hinton, W.Va.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home P.A. (www.scarpellifh.com) Cresaptown, on Monday from noon to 1 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George Harpold officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be John Flook, Gary Duckworth, Brian Duckworth, Jason Duckworth, James Schnably and Sean Schnably.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Lions Center, 901 Seton Drive, Cumberland, MD 21502.
