Ann Prather was born January 23, 1914 in Elkhart, Texas to Ella and Monroe Swan. She outlived one brother, Herbert, and three sisters, Eva, Thelma, and Helen. During the Depression she married Gaither Carradine. Their son, Kenneth, was stillborn in 1935. Gaither was killed on a torpedoed troop ship in the Pacific during World War II. A job brought Ann to San Antonio's Fort Sam Houston. She met and married Clyde Prather there in 1947. Their son (Don Alan Prather) was born in 1955. In 1982 Ann lost Clyde to cancer. Ann moved to Cleveland, Texas in 2003.
