HEATHSVILLE—Milton David "Cooky" Parker of Heathsville died September 3, 2013.

He was born May 10, 1935, in Horsehead, to the late Edith and John Parker.

He graduated from Julius Rosenwald High School. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the FBC Washington Club and vice president of the Community Crusaders Organization.

Parker was drafted into the Army. Upon his return, he started Parker's Delicatessen in Washington, D.C., which he ran for many years. He also owned and operated his own taxi cab. He returned to Horsehead and became known as the "Fish Man."

He also was predeceased by brothers John Clifton and Marshall Owen Parker.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Parker; stepsons, Cortland and Prescott Saunders; sons, Vance and Von Parker; daughters, Chiffon, Charnel and Charnita Williams; his sister, Marva P. Clark; and grandchildren, Prescott and Justin Hancock, Avainte and Courtney Saunders, Vantrice Parker, Allen, Shawnicy, Jonathan, Brianna, Shawnna, Jeilan and Keilani Williams.

A funeral service was held September 7 at First Baptist Church in Heathsville. Interment was in the church cemetery.
