Barbara J. "Barbie" Kugel age 65 of Prairie du Chien passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 19, 1948 in Waverly, IA the daughter of Wendell and Dorothy (Bodeker) Harstad. She married Larry Kugel on June 19, 1998 in Prairie du Chien. Barbie worked at McGregor Loudspeaker and later as a bartender in the Prairie du Chien area for several different establishments over the past 30 years. She was a member of the Eagles Club in Prairie du Chien.
She is survived by her husband Larry of Prairie du Chien, her children, Robert (Kathy) Hunt of Kearney, NE, Brenda (Michael) Mason and Nikki Slabaugh both of Prairie du Chien and Tammy Kober of Boscobel, WI, her parents Wendell and Dorothy Harstad of Waverly, IA, her brothers, Ronnie Harstad of California and Chuck (Pam) Harstad of Evansdale, IA, her sisters, Sandy (Curt) Hansen of Waverly and Deb (Jay) Jensen of Cedar Falls, IA, 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 from 10:00 AM until the time of services.
