Kelly Murphy, born on July 30, 1975 in Odessa, TX to Ronald Dean Murphy and Marilyn Janese Whitfield. He passed away on November 2, 2013, at the age of 38. Kelly is survived by his wife Amy Fabian; son, Jackson Murphy; parents Buz and Marilyn Sanders, RD Murphy; grandparents Leo and Joyce Whitfield; sisters, Deidra Tuten, Michele Sanders, and Melinda Sanders, also numerous other loving family members. Kelly served honorably in the US Coast Guard for 13 years 4 months and 7 days. The inspiration Kelly left for his family, friends, and fellow Shipmates, is the one thing we can hold dear to our hearts. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Schertz Funeral Home from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 also at the Schertz Funeral Home, 9:30am. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Jackson Murphy Scholarship Fund; check or money order made to Murphy's Fund, can be mailed to:
