Nora E. Rowland Self, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2008, two months from her 100th birthday. She was born in East Tennessee on June 21, 1908, one of 12 children to the late Daniel & Mary Rowland. Nora and her husband, John lived in Del Rio, TN. After World War II, until their return to the Peninsula in 1952. They were active and dedicated members of Morrison United Methodist Church and both taught adult Sunday school.
Mrs. Self was preceded in death by her husband, John; two sons, Clyde and Cecil Self, daughter, Edna Gowan; one granddaughter, twin great-grandsons, and 11 siblings.
Survivors include two daughters, Pat Burcher, and husband, Bland and Jackie Ceragioli and her husband, Rudy; her son, John Self Jr, and wife, Carroll; daughter-in-law, Lena Self and numerous grandchildren.
God richly blessed all who touched her life and whose lives she touched.
