Mrs. Jane Mercer, age 84, of Jennings, FL. passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at her home following an illness of some time. Mrs. Mercer was born in Alma, Georgia to the late Thomas and Nora Cain. She raised her family in the Orlando, Florida area and worked with Publix Supermarket in the meat department before moving her family to Jennings, FL. 23 years ago. Mrs. Mercer was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and her beloved husband, David W. Mercer. She was a member of Jennings Church of God.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas Lee Mercer (Joyce), Seymour, TN and David Timothy Mercer (Kathy), Altamonte Springs, FL.; two daughters, Sonya McCreary and Janice Stohlmann (Richard), all of Jennings, FL.; one sister, Christine Medders and sister-in-law, Beatrice Parker, both of Alma, GA.; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Saturday, October 30th at Jennings Church of God with Rev. Cynthia Mosley, Rev. Raymond Mickler and Rev. Daryl Pate officiating. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, FL. Memorial contributions may be made to Haven Hospice, 6037 West U.S. Hwy 90, Lake City, FL. 32055.
