Harry E. Ritter, Sr., 83, of Quarryville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Arthur and Anne (Scarle) Ritter. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doreen (Simons) Ritter. He is survived by his loving wife, Katherine (Sweeney) Ritter of Quarryville, with whom he celebrated 21 years of marriage.
Harry was a self-employed electrical engineer. He was a member of Bible Evangelical Methodist Church. Harry excelled in athletics; he enjoyed basketball, baseball and swimming.
In addition to his wife, Harry is survived by seven children: Dennis A. Ritter of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; Cynthia L. Rusnak of Sinking Springs, PA; Melinda L. Ritter, wife of Richard Hickman of Long Level, PA; Timothy D. Ritter, husband of Jennifer of Perkasie, PA; Harry E. Ritter, Jr. of Orlando, FL; Debra L. Ritter of Doylestown, PA; and Barbara A. Cooper, wife of Keith of Doylestown, PA. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and four brothers: Arthur, Robert, Edward, and William.
Memorial Services will take place at Bible Evangelical Methodist Church, 2 Kay Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603 on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jack Hilton officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10-11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Kindly omit flowers.
