LEMERLE LEM BEHNKE
Lemerle Lem Behnke, age 86, a resident of St. Marys Home at Felician Village,
formerly of 2121 Richmond Ave., Manitowoc, entered eternal life on Thursday
evening, June 19, 2008, at St. Marys Home.
Lem was born on Oct. 13, 1921, in the town of Rockland. He was the son of the
late Henry G. and Mabel (Pollack) Behnke. Lem was a graduate of Reedsville High
School with the class of 1939. On April 1, 1965 he married LaVerne J. Spatchek.
She preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 2007. Lem was a long time employee of the
City of Manitowoc Cemetery and Parks Department, from where he retired in 1983.
He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran church and the churchs Mens Club.
He is survived by two brothers and three sisters-in-law; Orval and Ruth Behnke,
Fond du Lac; Henry E. and Doris Behnke, Reedsville; and Betty Behnke of
Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; LaVerne in 2007 and one
brother, Leroy Behnke.
