Jean G. Cogan, 86, died early Wednesday morning at Smith Health Care, Mountain Top, where she had been a guest for the past week.
Born in Dorrance on Sept. 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Margaret (Fink) Stein and a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Conyngham.
Jean spent most of her life working in the garment industry and she especially loved gardening.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband, Elmer "Pat" W. Cogan, who passed away in 1988.
Surviving are her daughters, Darla Rough and her husband, Francis, Drums; and Donette Fass and her husband, Robert, Sugarloaf; and son, Brad Cogan and his wife, Marilou, Auburn. Also surviving are grandsons, Kyle Rough and his wife, Stefanie, Summerville, S.C.; and Blake Cogan and his wife, Julia, Fort Drum, N.Y.; granddaughters, Briana Randise, Harrisburg; and Brittany Cogan, Hoboken, N.J.; great-granddaughter, Aubrey Cogan, Fort Drum, N.Y.; brothers, Harold Stein and his wife, Darlis, Berwick; and Donald Stein, Dallas, Pa.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services, under the direction of the Butler Chapel of Krapf & Hughes Funeral Home Inc., Drums, will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in St. Johns Lutheran and UCC Cemetery, St. Johns.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made in Jean's name to Christ Lutheran Church, 467 Main St., Conyngham, PA 18219.
