was born in Carroll, on May 22,
1940 the daughter of Floyd and
Sophie (Delbridge) Bell. She
attended the Alta Community
School and Storm Lake High
School and spent two years at
the Iowa Braille and Sight
Saving School in Vinton. She
married Jacob "Jack" Nielsen in
Newell in 1957.
Kay was a homemaker and a
caregiver at Genesis
Development in Storm Lake.
She was a member of the Nain
Lutheran Church in Newell
where she served as a Sunday
School teacher and was
superintendent for 26 years.
Kay was a Cub Scout Den
Mother, and an assistant leader
of 4-H. Her life's work was as a
caregiver to the young and old.
She loved to paint buildings and
rooms. Most of all she loved
spending time with her children
and grandchildren.
Preceding Kay in death were
her parents, two brothers: Floyd
"Dennis" Bell and John Bell and
two infant sisters.
