He was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. He was retired from the Illonis Central Gulf Railroad where he worked as a brakeman.He was a veteran of WWII serving in the army.He lived his life in South Fulton, TN. He is survived by his wife of 59 years whom he married June 12, 1947, Dorothy Kupfer Tegethoff. 1 daughter- Susan Hall of Union City TN.4 grandchildren- Kim Jackson of Fulton KY, Courtney Pair of South Fulton TN, Laura Houge of Huntsville AL, and Troy Stokes of Fulton KY. 1 sister -Frances Holland of St.Louis MO. 7 great grandchildren.
