STANLEY WARD SPRATT, Esthers brother, ' died too young'. He had a quiet and somewhat withdrawn childhood, but in his young adulthood reversed himself and became an articulate newsman with a wandering foot. He would leave his place of business suddenly, and re-appear as suddenly as tho he had never been gone. Esther says ' he was of blond coloring , and had the stature, also, of the Spratt's '. Stanley served in World War 1. He married only once, and had a son who died almost as soon as born. This only marriage ended in divorce - his wife later remarried. Stanley Ward Spratt died in Florida, thus ending the direct lineage of this specific Spratt family .

In the Spratt family home of N. Bridgton, Maine owned by Esther, Stanley's room remains the same as when he last used it. The antiques rope bed with its feather-bed cover, pictures, clothes packed in trunks, toys and the mementos of his youth still in place. There are still yo-yos in the ' playroom '- an iron fire engine among other things..... toys that are lent on occasion by Esther for exhibit by local antique enthusiasts.
