He loved traveling. His most treasured trip was taken recently to Hawaii.
He was an advocate for and worked with various organizations in Madison to help promote and unsure handicap accessibility.
He is survived by his step-mother, Faye Dedering of New Holstein; four sisters, Judy (Jim) Gerharz of Kiel, Linda Will of New Holstein, Karen (Rich) Borcherding of Loveland, Ohio, and Debbie (Luis) Brito of Warrensburg, Mo.; one brother, Daniel.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Darryl Will.
It was David's wish to donate his organs for transplant in hopes of giving the gift of life to others. Cremation has taken place.
