Margaret was the daughter of James Holbrook and Margaret Goggin. She married Richard Gober 1887 in Georgia. By 1900 the family had moved to Dekalb County, Alabama and by 1910 the family was living in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma.
Margaret was Richard's third wife and they had eight children born to the family. Charles, Margie, Ella, Minnie, Lydia, Demis, Leby, and Anderson. She helped to raise six children from his second marriage to Emeline Gann.
