Glen M. Waybright, 87, of Enterprise, passed away at 6:35 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 7, 2013) at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Montrose, Aug. 9, 1926, a son of the late Guy Daniel and Helen Toy Bennett Waybright.

On July 30, 1947, he married Eleanor Toothman Waybright, who survives him.

Also surviving are four children, Bob Waybright and his wife Melody of Shinnston, Ron Waybright and his wife Lois of Shepherdstown, Sandy Spavone and her husband Tom of Bristow, Va., and Debbie Waybright of Enterprise; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Waybright-Taylor and her husband Buddy of Shinnston, Rob Waybright and his wife Kristi of Enterprise, Megan Waybright of Inwood, Josh Waybright and his wife Krista of Okeechobee, Fla., Kaity, Joel and Tori Waybright, all of Shepherdstown, Thomas Spavone of Dunn Looring, Va., Christina Anninos and her husband Nik of Watertown, N.Y.; three great-grandchildren, Damien Boles, Samuel Waybright and Chloe Waybright; three brothers, Stanley Waybright and his wife Kitty of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Guy Junior Waybright of Cuyahoga Falls, and Doyle Waybright and his wife Jo of Charlotte, N.C.; one sister, Dottie Sturm and her husband Bob of Manassas, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Waybright of Elkins, and Louise Zinn of Fairmont.

He was also preceded in death by one grandson, William Martin Waybright; one brother, Bob Waybright; and two sisters-in-law, Iva Waybright and Alma Waybright.

Glen was a WW II veteran, having served with the United States Army under Gen. Patton, where he was a part of the Battle of the Bulge.

He was a plumber and electrician, and was a member of the Plumbers and Steam Fitters Union Local 759 where he served as the financial secretary, and Local 152 where he served as president. He had formerly worked for AE Jackson for 18 years and was a job coordinator for the building and trades industry. He owned and operated Waco Mechanical Contractors from which he retired.

He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the St. John's Lodge No. 24 AF & AM, Shinnston.

He was a member of the Bible Baptist Temple in Stonewood.

Glen loved to fish and spend time at his camp in Bemis.

Friends may call at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike, Shinnston, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Charles Madaus officiating.

Interment will be in the West Virginia National Cemetery at Pruntytown, where full military rites will be accorded.
