Terry (Lorana) Dennis Barton, 66, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in her home. She was a longtime resident of Moss Bluff and Westlake. A graduate of McNeese State University, Terry served in the Navy and worked as a school teacher for many years. She was a longtime member of New Covenant Fellowship in Westlake, led by Bro. Gene and Gina Winkler. Terry had recently moved to DeQuincy, becoming an active member of Hargrove Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading her Bible and watching episodes of "I Love Lucy."
Terry is survived by her four children: Beth Fields Bunch, Neal Lee, Joanna Crosby, and Mitzie Barton, as well as her siblings, Maury and Pat Dennis, Clyde and Jerry Dennis, Mike and Alice Dennis, and Ruth Dennis Farmer. She was known as "Meemaw" to her 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Randy Fields, her mother Winiferd Dennis, and her father M.E. Dennis, Jr.
Visitation and reception will be on Friday, November 8th, at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Her service will be at 2 p.m., with burial to follow at Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff.
