Denny was born on March 16, 1939 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Harold & Ernestine (Routt) Squires.
He graduated from Arcola High School in 1957. He started his career in construction in Kokomo working for Routt & Sons Construction. In 1972, he moved to Bluffton and worked for James S. Jackson Construction. He was a superintendent and worked on many projects, some including the Caylor- Nickel Building and the Gates Sports Center. In 1986 he joined his son, working for Squires Construction. In his free time he enjoyed golfing and fishing and spending time at the lake.
He is survived by 3 children; Mrs. Scott (Pandora) Day of Sturgis, Michigan, Denny L. Squires Jr. of Bluffton and Mrs. Ron (Teresa) Gremaux of New Haven, Indiana. Along with seven grandchildren; Mrs. Raphael (Jana) Starr of Marion, IN, Mrs. Dustin (Jill) Pagels of Sturgis, MI, Denny L. Squires III, Rhonda S. Squires and Danielle Squires all of Bluffton, Mrs. Matt (Kara) Reichert of Naperville, IL, and Trevor (Courtney) Gremaux of Huntington, IN., and 2 great-grandsons; Matthew & Nathan Pagels of Sturgis, MI.
Denny is survived by a sister, Violet Sheerin of Fort Wayne, Indiana
Calling hours will be held on Monday (June 8, 2009) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hope Missionary Church in Bluffton. A Memorial Service will follow at the church at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made in memory of Denny to Family Hospice & Palliative Care. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Thoma/Rich, Chaney & Lemler Funeral Home in Bluffton.
