Survivors include her children, Vicky Spoon of Belle Plaine, Iowa, Jim Smith of Castle Rock, Washington, Alison (Gary) Schneider of Weslaco, Texas, Randy (Cathy) Smith of Springtown, Texas, and Debbie Kline of Marshalltown, Iowa; a sister, Dixie Meeks of Belle Plaine; three brothers, Robert (Sharon) Jacobs of Ladora, Iowa, Kenneth (Norma) Jacobs of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Dr. Orville (Ruth) Jacobs of Altoona, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Violet Jacobs; husband, Joe O'Dell; two sons, Bobby and Orville Smith; grandson, Chad Dunkel; and two great-grandchildren, Kara Dunkel and Keenan Smith.
Wanda was born November 11, 1933, the daughter of Lawrence and Violet (Barnett) Jacobs, in Marengo, Iowa. She married Charles Smith and later divorced. She met Joe O'Dell and together they managed numerous restaurants, where she also worked as the cook.
Wanda loved working on crafts and enjoyed selling her products at the craft shows.
