Mrs. Ann Saffold of Madison, Ga., died April 2d 1875, in the 83d year of her age, and in the same room which she had occupied for nearly 60 years. She was the last of the children of Maj. Oliver Porter, the sister of Mr. Anthony Porter of Savannah, Ga., and of Mr. John W. Porter of Madison, Ga., both of whom died many years ago. She was born in Greene County, Ga., January 8th 1793 and on 15 December 1813 was married to Adam G. Saffold, of Madison, Ga. She raised only two children-- a son, Mr. Wm. O. Saffold, who died on the 6th of January last, and a daughter, Mrs. Col. D.S. Johnson, now residing in Madison, in the old family mansion. A. Means
