Lake, Iowa to James E. and Betty Jean Gaes Petersen. Kevin was
baptized at the First Baptist Church in Newell.
He graduated from Newell Providence High School and
attended Buena Vista College, California College of Health
Sciences and Western Iowa Tech.
He was united in marriage to Claire Whitney on December
29, 1972 at Storm Lake, Iowa and to this union two daughters
were born, Abby and Molly, both of Newell.
Kevin worked at Trinity Regional Hospital, Fort Dodge as
a Respiratory Care Practitioner at the time of his death. Previous
to working in Fort Dodge he had worked as a Paramedic at the
Buena Vista County Hospital. He was a member of the National
Registry of Paramedics and Iowa EMS Association. His many
hobbies included wood working and gardening.
