They returned to Barry County, Mo., when she was 10 days old, where they lived all of her young life. She graduated from Cassville High School in Cassville, Mo. Crystal loved the Lord and served on the mission field in California for two-and-a-half years. Then she worked at Mohawk Petroleum. She managed a department store in Aurora, Mo., and worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon for 25 years as a caregiver.
She was a member of Middle Creek Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxilliary Post 1671 in McLeansboro.
She married Wilford "Bud" Dale, "the love of her life," on Dec. 28, 1974, in the home of his sister, Mae Todd, in Meadowbrook. Bud preceded her to heaven on July 26, 2008.
She is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Beverly and Herman Hopper, Flora and Joe Walker, and Chris and Frank Voliva; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Bruce and Danny Dale; two stepdaughters, Becky Purcell and Kim Hutchcraft; six stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild; three sisters-in-law, Mae Todd, Bonnie Voliva and Donna and Chet Brake; one brother-in-law, Hoarse Earl Stephens; two very special friends, Rodney and Darlene Grewe; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and three sisters, Grace Laney, Dorothy Folsom and Jessie Fred Stephens.
